MISSOURI MUD COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. cocoa
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. milk
Dash of salt
1/4 c. chopped nuts
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. peanut butter
1 1/2 c. quick-cooking oatmeal

In a heavy iron skillet, on top of the stove, mix sugar, cocoa, butter and milk. Slowly heat until bubbly. Add the salt, vanilla, peanut butter, oatmeal and nuts. Stir and mix well. Remove from heat. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper.
