PECAN MATZO TORTE 
9 egg yolks
1 2/3 c. sugar
2 lemons
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. ground pecans
3/4 c. matzo meal

TOPPING:

Damson plum jelly
5 egg whites (or whipped cream may be used)
5 tbsp. sugar

Beat eggs very lightly with sugar, about 30 minutes. Add juice and rind of lemons. Add ground pecans, matzo meal (unsifted) to which baking powder has been added. Bake in a 9" or 10" spring form at 325 to 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Remove from oven and cool. Top with a layer of Damson plum jelly and cover with egg whites that have been beaten with sugar or whipped cream. This can be made 24 hours in advance and put in refrigerator. Serves 10.
