CREAMY HERBED AU GRATIN SOUP | |
1 tbsp. butter 1/2 c. chopped onion 1 3/4 c. water 1 (5.1 oz.) box UNCLE BEN'S® Country Inn brand herbed rice au gratin 1 1/2 tbsp. flour 3/4 tsp. dried basil, crushed Dash of nutmeg 1 3/4 c. chicken broth or chicken bouillon 2 c. milk 1 tbsp. chopped parsley Cook onion in butter until tender. Add water, rice and seasoning packet, bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 20 minutes. Combine flour, basil and nutmeg in bowl. Gradually add about 1/2 cup of chicken broth, stir until smooth. Stir remaining broth, flour mixture and milk into rice mixture. Heat to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Simmer until slightly thickened. Sprinkle with parsley. Makes 4 to 6 servings. |
