CRANBERRY ORANGE BREAD 
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. shortening
Grated rind of 1 orange
3/4 c. orange juice
1 egg
1 c. raw cranberries, halved

Combine dry ingredients in bowl; mix in the shortening, rind, juice and egg. Fold in cranberries. Pour into greased 9"x5"x3" loaf pan. Bake in 350 degree oven until tests done with wooden pick (about 1 hour). Cool thoroughly before slicing. Slice with thin sharp knife. Yield: 1 loaf.
