1 c. lukewarm water 1 pkg. active yeast 1 tbsp. sugar 1 tbsp. oil 1 tsp. salt 2 c. flour In large bowl combine water, sugar, shortening, salt, and yeast. Allow to stand until yeast dissolves. Add flour slowly, beating well after each addition. Knead flour into dough. Dough should not be sticky. Refrigerate dough. Dough will rise in refrigerator for 2-4 hours. Dough must be stretched thin then deep fry pieces. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon on top with strawberries or apple and cherry pie filling. Makes 6-8 ears. |
