BANANA BARS 
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 1/2 lg. bananas, mashed
1/3 c. milk
1 tsp. lemon juice

Mix shortening, sugar, eggs, lemon juice and milk. Add flour, soda and salt; add bananas last. Beat 2 minutes. Bake in 9 x 13 inch pan at 350 degrees 25 to 30 minutes.

FROSTING:

2 tbsp. soft butter
2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 mashed banana

Mix together and spread on cooled bars. Store in refrigerator.
