SPICY BANANA BARS 
1 c. sifted flour
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/4 c. butter
1/3 c. mashed ripe banana
1 egg
1/4 c. milk
1/3 c. walnuts or pecans chopped

MIX first eight ingredients, stir well. CREAM butter. Add 1/3 cup bananas. BLEND in egg, beat well. ADD dry ingredients alternately with milk, blend well after each addition. STIR in chopped nuts. SPREAD in well greased and lightly floured 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 22 to 25 minutes. Frost while warm.

LEMON FROSTING:

Combine 2 tablespoons melted butter, 1 tablespoon hot water, and 2 teaspoons lemon juice. Blend in 1 cup confectioner's sugar. Thin with additional hot water, a few drops at a time, if necessary. Mix by hand.
