BUTTERMILK OR SOUR CREAM CAKE 
1 stick (1/2 c.) butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk or sour cream

Beat real well. Put half of batter in greased tube pan or square pan and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and nuts, if you wish. Add rest of batter and sprinkle again with sugar, cinnamon and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.

Buttermilk makes it light and sour cream makes it like a pound cake.
