FINNISH TURNIP CASSEROLE 
2 med. turnips, peeled & diced (about 6 c.)
1/4 c. fine dry bread crumbs
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 c. cream or milk
1 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
3 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Cook turnip until soft. Drain and mash. Soak bread crumbs in cream and stir in nutmeg, cinnamon, salt, sugar and beaten egg. Combine with mashed turnip. Turn into a buttered 2 1/2 quart casserole. Dot top with butter, a bit more cinnamon and bread crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 or until lightly browned on top.
