SHARON'S TURNIP CASSEROLE 
3 1/2 c. turnips (pared and sliced)
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
1 1/2 c. milk
2/3 c. shredded cheddar cheese

Cook turnips in boiling salted water until tender. Drain thoroughly, melt butter in saucepan and add flour, salt and pepper. Add milk and cook, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Combine sauce and turnips, pour into a casserole. Top with cheese and bake in 350 degree oven until hot and bubbly. Serves 6.
