4 c. flour
2 c. sugar or 4 tbsp. of Sweet & Low
1 c. Crisco
1 c. milk
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 or 2 tsp. desired flavoring
5 or 6 sm. eggs or 4 lg.

Sift flour, salt and baking powder together. Beat eggs, Crisco, and sugar until it is creamy smooth. Then add flour and milk gradually to eggs, Crisco and sugar. After all is blended, add desired flavoring. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour or until it is golden brown. Let cake cool before glazing or serve plain. Serves around 20 people.
