1 c. hot water
1/2 c. butter
4 squares chocolate (unsweetened)
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Put water, butter and chocolate in cooker and melt. Sift together flour, sugar, soda and salt, then put in large mixing bowl and add buttermilk, eggs and vanilla to dry ingredients and mix well. Add chocolate mixture and mix well. Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes. Use 3 round pans, greased and dusted with flour.

CHOCOLATE FROSTING:

4 squares unsweetened chocolate
1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. Crisco
1 box confectioners' sugar
1/3 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
