2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
3 egg yolks
1 c. mashed potatoes
2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. allspice
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. black walnut nutmeats
3 beaten egg whites

Put potatoes on to boil. Cream sugar and shortening. Add egg yolks to mixture. Mash and add potatoes. Mix dry ingredients and add alternately to creamed mixture with the milk and vanilla mixture. Add nut meats. Mix well. Then fold in the beaten egg whites. Do not stir mixture anymore.
