1 1/2 sticks butter
2 c. white sugar
1 c. hot mashed potato
2 egg yolks, beaten
1/4 tsp. of each cloves, nutmeg
Cinnamon and grated lemon rind
1 1/2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
2 beaten egg whites

Cream: butter and sugar and hot mashed potato. Add: beaten egg yolks and cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon and grated lemon rind. Sift together and add to butter and sugar mixture alternately with milk, flour and baking powder. Fold into the beaten egg whites.

Bake at 350 degrees until toothpick comes out of cake clean.
