GOBLIN STEW 
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 c. diced onions
1 c. diced carrots
4 c. cooked tomatoes
1/2 c. rice
4 c. water
3 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. thyme
1 bay leaf

Brown beef lightly in small amount of oil; drain off fat. Combine all ingredients in large kettle; simmer, covered, for 1 hour. Yield 6 servings.
