PLAIN CAKE WITH LEMON JELLY
ICING
 
CAKE:

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 c. flour (plain)
4 eggs
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking powder

Mix above ingredients together and pour into 2 greased cake pans and bake 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. You can use yellow cake mix or lemon cake mix.

ICING:

2 egg yolks
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. butter
2 heaping tbsp. cornstarch
Juice & rind of 2 lemons
1 1/4 c. water

Cook and stir in double boiler over medium heat until thick then let cool a little then ice cake.
