DOUBLE FUDGE CHOCOLATE CHIP
BROWNIES
 
1/2 lb. bittersweet chocolate
1/2 lb. butter
4 eggs
3 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 c. walnuts, broken into lg. pieces
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate bits

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9"x13" pan. Melt chocolate and butter in top of double boiler. In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar. Add melted chocolate and vanilla; beat until blended. Add flour and stir until well mixed. Stir in nuts and chocolate bits. Pour batter into pan. Bake 30 minutes. (Brownies should be fudgy and moist; if over cooked, they will harden.) Cut into 2"x2" size pieces; makes about 24 brownies.
