1 c. shortening
1 c. sifted powdered sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. red food coloring
1/2 c. sugar

Mix shortening, sugar, egg and flavorings thoroughly. In different dish, sift in flour. Mix flour and salt, stir into shortening mixture. Divide dough in half. Mix red food coloring into one of the dough mixtures.
