BLACKBERRY CAKE 
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. cloves
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 heaping c. blackberries (fresh or frozen)
3/4 tsp. salt
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
3 eggs
3/4 c. sour milk (1 tsp. vinegar & sweet milk)

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs; mix well with dry ingredients and milk. Add berries; mix. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.

ICING:

2 egg whites

Beat until frothy. Add: 1 tsp. vanilla 4 tbsp. shortening Powdered sugar (enough until it forms a peak)

Spread on cake.
