DATE PUDDING | |
1/2 c. butter (1 stick) 1 c. sugar (cream sugar & butter together) 3/4 lb. cut dates (combine with hot water & baking soda) 1 c. hot water (boiling) 1 tsp. baking soda Add: 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour Dash of salt to taste 1/2 c. nuts Put in loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. SAUCE TO PUT OVER THE DATE PUDDING: 1 stick of butter 1 c. sugar 2 egg yolks, beaten 1 c. whipping cream (not whipped cream) 1/2 tsp. vanilla Combine all ingredients together. Cook in a double boiler until clear. |
