APPLE CRUMB SQUARES | |
2 c. Quaker oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked) 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour 1 c. butter, melted 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon For base and topping: Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 13 x 9 inch baking pan. In large bowl, combine all ingredients; mix until crumbly. Reserve 1 cup mixture. Press remaining mixture onto bottom of prepared pan. Bake 13-15 minutes. Cool. For Filling: Spread applesauce over partially baked base; sprinkle with nuts. Sprinkle reserved 1 cup oat mixture over filling. Bake 13-15 minutes or until golden brown. Cool; cut into 2 inch squares. Makes 24 squares. |
