MOLASSES CAKE 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 c. molasses
1 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves

Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs, beating well. Add molasses and beat until blended. Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Bake in a floured pan, 13 x 9 x 2 inches at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes.
