HARVARD BEETS 
1/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. water
1/4 c. vinegar
1 tbsp. butter
Salt and pepper to taste
1 qt. or 2 1/2 c. sliced beets

Bring first 6 ingredients to boil to thicken. Add beets; serve hot or cold.
