SAVORY MEAT LOAF DINNER 
1 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 c. Heinz 57 Sauce
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. bread crumbs
1/4 tsp. dried basil
1/4 c. finely chopped celery (optional)
1/4 c. finely chopped onion (optional)
2 cans tomato soup, diluted very slightly

Mix together thoroughly and form into a loaf.

4 raw, peeled potatoes, cut in lg. pieces
4 lg. carrots, peeled & cut into 2" pieces
1 lg. onion, peeled & cut up into 1/4 pieces

Bake, uncovered for 30 minutes in a large glass dish, pour off any accumulated grease.

Place vegetables around meat loaf and cover with tomato soup, diluted to pouring consistency. Bake, uncovered another 45 minutes. Baste occasionally. This recipe may be doubled but it is best to make two meat loaves in that case, not one large one.
