MOM'S GOLDEN POUND CAKE 
1 c. butter flavor shortening
3 c. granulated sugar
5 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl - cream sugar and shortening until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each. Stir in vanilla. Thoroughly mix flour, baking powder and salt (sift). Add dry mixture into cream mixture alternating with milk. Mix thoroughly.

Pour into greased and floured 10 inch tube pan or 2 loaf pans. Bake 1 hour at 20 minutes. Cool upright in pan for 20 minutes.

I love the pound cake, so does my mom.. I just don't like how they raise the price at the stores. I used to buy it every month but now because of the price it's every 4 months. Well anyway will try the recipe!
