CINNAMON APPLE COFFEE CAKE 
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. shortening
3 lg. apples, sliced thin
1/4 c. chopped walnuts
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla

CINNAMON-SUGAR MIX:

1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1. Mix flour, baking powder, soda and salt.

2. Cream together sugar and shortening.

3. Add eggs. Beat until fluffy.

4. Add flour mixture to sour cream.

5. Add vanilla.

6. Put half of the batter into greased 9x9x2 pan.

7. Sprinkle nuts and half of the cinnamon-sugar mix over batter in pan.

8. Top with apples.

9. Add remaining batter, spread evenly.

10. Top with remaining cinnamon-sugar mix.

11. Bake at 370 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
