2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 c. water
2 sticks butter
2 eggs
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Stir flour and sugar together in large bowl. Mix water, butter and cocoa in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Pour over sugar mixture at once. Dissolve soda and salt in buttermilk and add to the mixture along with eggs and vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Pour in greased 13x9x2- inch pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

ICING:

1 stick butter
1/3 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 box powdered sugar
Nuts, if desired
