M. A. BLANEY'S BEAN SOUP 
1 bag dried Navy beans
1 lg. can crushed tomatoes
3 carrots, cut lg. pieces
Ham bone and chopped ham
3 lg. white potatoes

Rinse and pick through dried beans. Put beans, ham bone, ham and carrots in a large pot. Cover with water and cook for about 3 hours. (Check water level during cooking - Edit.)

Remove ham bone and check beans. When beans are almost done add potatoes. Continue cooking until potatoes are tender. Break up potatoes with a long handled fork to thicken up the soup then munge (eat!).
