CHERRY DESSERT 
1 can cherry pie filling
1 can sour pitted cherries (do NOT drain)
1/8 tsp. salt
1 pkg. Betty Crocker yellow cake mix
1/2 c. melted butter
1 c. sliced almonds

Mix cherries and salt. Spread into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Cover cherries with 1 package yellow cake mix as it comes from box. Drizzle 1/2 cup melted butter over cake mix. Prick with fork several places. Top with 1 cup sliced almonds. Bake 40 to 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Serves 15. Serve with Cool Whip, etc.
