BAKALAVA 
1 pkg. of filo dough
2-3 lbs. crushed walnuts
1 lb. sugar
5-6 c. water
3 cinnamon sticks
9 x 12 inch baking dish
1 lb. melted butter

Unroll filo dough. Butter sides and bottom of dish, carefully lift one piece of dough off and place gently into dish. Brush with melted butter. Generously sprinkle with crushed walnuts. Repeat until all dough is layered with nuts. When finished cut on a diagonal line to form triangles, refrigerate.

Syrup: In medium saucepan combine water, sugar, cinnamon sticks. Bring to a rolling boil, making sure to stir to prevent sticking. Pull Bakalava from refrigerator making sure it is cold, pour hot sauce over Bakalava, saturate thoroughly. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown, about 30 minutes. Watch the edges. Let cool and eat. Yum! Yum!
