TOMATO SALAD
DRESSING:

1/2 c. oil (olive is best!)
1/3 c. vinegar
1 tbsp. white wine Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. white pepper

SALAD:

3 med. tomatoes, thinly sliced
1 sm. onion, thinly sliced, separated into rings
1 tbsp. chopped fresh basil leaves
Fresh lettuce leaves

In a small bowl, combine all dressing ingredients; set aside. In shallow dish, layer tomatoes and onions; sprinkle with basil. Pour dressing over tomatoes and onions; cover. Refrigerate several hours to blend flavors; occasionally spooning dressing over tops of slices. To serve as salad, drain tomatoes and onions, reserving dressing. Arrange tomato slices and onion rings on lettuce-lined plates; drizzle with dressing.

Makes @ 8 servings.

Use really fresh, delicious summer tomatoes! Not those yukky store ones.
