AMERICAN-STYLE LASAGNA 
1/2 lb. lean ground beef
1 clove garlic, minced or pressed
2 to 2 1/2 c. prepared spaghetti sauce
1 tsp. Italian style herbs
1/4 c. water
6 uncooked lasagna noodles (6 oz.)
1 c. sm. curd cottage cheese
1 egg
1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 c. (6 oz.) Mozzarella cheese, shredded

1. In skillet, brown the ground beef with garlic evenly crumbled.

2. Stir in spaghetti sauce, herbs, water.

3. Spoon 1/3 sauce over bottom of dish. Top with 3 noodles.

4. Mix the cottage cheese, egg and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese. Spoon half of cheese mixture over noodles. Top with 1/3 of meat sauce. Top with 1/2 of Mozzarella cheese.

5. Layer remaining noodles, cottage cheese, meat sauce and Parmesan and Mozzarella cheese. Be sure noodles are covered with sauce and topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes until lasagna is bubbly, lightly browned and noodles are done.
