FRIED CABBAGE AND DUMPLINGS | |
Cast iron skillet works best. Grate 1 large cabbage. Melt butter in skillet to 1/4 inch deep. Add cabbage, salt, and pepper (onions, optional). Have salt water boiling for dumpling. DUMPLINGS: 3 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking powder (optional) 7 eggs Mix with fork, then add about a tablespoon of warm water at a time until sticky. Drop 1/2 teaspoon at time into boiling water. Remove drain. Stir and heat through cabbage - and eat! |
