SWEET AND SOUR GREEN BEAN
CASSEROLE
 
3 cans green beans
1/2 c. sugar
1 lg. white onion
8 bacon slices
1/2 c. white vinegar

Heat beans well and drain. Fry bacon and remove from bacon fat. Mix sugar and vinegar. Add mixture to hot bacon fat. Cook mixture a few minutes. Place beans in baking dish and pour hot mixture on top. Slice onion in thin slices and put on top of beans. Place bacon slices on top of onion. Place casserole in 250 degree oven for 3 hours. Never let beans reach boiling point again.
