BASIC SWEET DOUGH 
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter
1/2 c. warm water (105-115 degrees)
2 pkgs. dry yeast
2 eggs, beaten
4 1/2 c. flour

Scald milk; stir in sugar, salt and butter. Cool to lukewarm. Sprinkle yeast into warm water; stir until dissolved. Stir in lukewarm milk mixture, beaten eggs and half the flour; beat until smooth.

Stir in remaining flour to make slightly stiff dough. Knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes. Place in greased bowl (covered); let rise 1 hour. Punch down; shape as desired. Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
