OVEN FRIED CHICKEN 
1 c. Gold Medal flour
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 tsp. paprika
1/2 c. shortening (half butter)
1 cut-up frying chicken

Heat oven to 425 degrees (hot). Mix flour, salt, pepper and paprika in paper bag. Put shortening in oblong pan, 13 x 9 1/2 x 2-inches and set in oven to melt. Shake 3 or 4 pieces of chicken at a time in bag to coat thoroughly.

Place chicken, skin-side-down, in single layer in hot shortening. Bake 30 minutes. Turn skin-side up and bake another 30 minutes or until chicken is tender. Yield: 4 servings.
