SWEET BUN DOUGH | |
1 c. warm water 2 pkgs. dry yeast 1 1/2 c. milk, scalded & cooled 1/2 c. sugar 2 1/2 tsp. salt 2 eggs, beaten 1/2 c. shortening 7 c. flour (plus more for soft dough) Dissolve yeast in warm water with a teaspoon of sugar. Let stand 10 minutes. Add milk, eggs and shortening with 3 cups flour; stir well. Add flour and salt. mix and knead until elastic and smooth. Place in greased bowl, turn and cover. Let rise in warm place about 1 hour. Knead down and let rise again. Make into buns and let rise until doubled. Bake at 375 degrees until nicely browned, about 15 to 20 minutes. |
