OATMEAL - COCONUT COOKIES 
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. real butter
1/2 c. lard
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. shredded coconut
1/2 c. chopped nuts
3 c. old fashioned oats

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Cream sugars, butter, lard, eggs, and vanilla. Blend in flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Fold in coconut, nuts, and oats (mixture will be stiff). Roll into 1 to 1 1/2 inch balls. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet and flatten slightly with a spoon. Bake 12 to 15 minutes.
