COCONUT OATMEAL COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
2 c. sifted flour
2 c. quick cooking oatmeal
2 c. coconut
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder

Sift dry ingredients, gradually add sugar to shortening, creamed until light. Add egg, one at a time, beating well after each. Add the dry ingredients and mix well. Chill. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased baking sheet. Bake in 350 degree oven 12-15 minutes.
