RASPBERRY SQUARES 
1/4 c. soft butter
1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. raspberry jam
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg

Blend butter, shortening, sugar, egg and vanilla in bowl. Combine flour, salt and baking powder. Add to butter mixture and mix well. Spread half dough into buttered 8 inch pan. Spread with raspberry jam. Press remaining dough onto 8 inch square waxed paper. Place dough over raspberry jam. Peel off paper. Bake 400 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
