3 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. water
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vinegar
2/3 c. salad oil

Sift flour once, then measure. Sift flour, sugar, cocoa, soda, salt once then sift again into ungreased 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Make 3 holes in dry ingredients in pan. Into one hole, put vinegar; into second, vanilla; into third, salad oil. Pour cold water gradually over mixture in pan and stir with mixing spoon until there are no lumps. Be sure to mix in corners of pan. Spread mixture evenly in pan and bake at 350 degrees 35 minutes.
