SWEDISH SPRITZ | |
1 c. butter, softened 1/2 c. sugar 1 egg 1 tsp. almond extract 2-2 1/2 c. flour Cream and cream and cream butter and sugar. Add egg and cream some more! Add extract and then flour, just enough to form a soft dough. Options: 1) Place in cookie press with a star tip. Shape cookie directly onto an ungreased cookie sheet in the form of an "S" (this is the traditional way to use this cookie dough. 2) With the same tip make 3 inch sticks. When cooled dip 1/2 in melted chocolate. Place on wax paper until chocolate is set. 3) By the teaspoonsful roll into balls, roll in finely chopped walnuts, and then place on cookie sheet. With index finger, push down center, and when cool place a small amount of currant jelly in the center. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees (until barely golden). |
