LEMON BREAD 
1/3 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
grated rind of 1 lemon
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1/3 c. sugar
Juice of one lemon

Blend shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Add all remaining ingredients.

Bake at 350°F for 50 to 60 minutes in a greased loaf pan.

After baking, blend 1/3 c. sugar and the juice of the lemon; pour over loaf of bread while still warm in the pan.
