DATE & NUT BREAD 
1 c. boiling coffee
1 c. chopped dates
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. butter
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
Pinch salt
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix coffee, dates and baking soda; let stand. Mix remaining ingredients, add coffee mix and mix well. Pour into loaf pan. Bake at 275 to 300 degrees 1 1/2 hours.
