FUDGY OATMEAL BARS 
2 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. butter, melted or softened
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. quick-cooking or regular oats
12 oz. pkg. Nestle semi-sweet real chocolate morsels
14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease jelly roll pan, 15 1/2 x 10 x 1 inch. Mix brown sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla in large bowl. Stir in flour, baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Stir in oats. Reserve 1/3 of the oatmeal mixture. Press remaining oatmeal mixture in pan. Heat chocolate morsels, milk and 2 tablespoons butter in 2 quart saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate morsels are melted. Remove from heat; stir in nuts, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Spread over oatmeal mixture in pan. Drop reserved oatmeal mixture by rounded teaspoonful onto chocolate mixture. Bake until golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes. While warm, cut into bars about 2 x 1 inch thick. Makes 70 bars.

I have made these bars for years...I was so grateful to find the recipe posted again after losing it last year during a move...I have always had great reviews from everyone that has tried them...they never seem to last very long!! Instead of adding the chopped nuts, I have always used slivered or shaved almonds...it gives such a great texture. Enjoy!!
