FILLED COFFEE CAKE | |
1/2 c. butter 1 c. sugar 2 eggs 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. buttermilk 2 tsp. vanilla 2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda FILLING: 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. white sugar 2 tbsp. flour 2 1/2 to 3 tbsp. butter 1 1/2 c. nuts, chopped (optional) 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon Beat sugar, butter, and eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with buttermilk to first mixture. Add vanilla. Pour half batter into greased 9 x 9 inch pan. Top with filling, then rest of batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. |
