REFRIED BEANS 
1 lb. pinto beans
6 to 8 c. cold water
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt

Wash beans thoroughly, place in a 6 quart kettle, cover with cold water allow to soak overnight. In covered kettle bring beans and water to a boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer approximately 3 hours or until beans are very tender. Pour off excess liquid. Add remaining ingredients and mix together thoroughly while mashing beans. Mixture should be thick. Serve as a side dish or as a filling for tacos, or burritos.
