POUND CAKE | |
2 stick butter 1/2 c. Crisco 3 c. white sugar 5 eggs 3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. milk 2 tsp. vanilla, butternut or almond flavoring Cream together butter and Crisco until fluffy. Add sugar slowly, beating well. Add eggs and beat well. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; add alternately with milk and flavoring. If making chocolate cake, melt chocolate and add eggs. Bake in well greased and floured 10 inch tube pan for 1 hour and 40 or 50 minutes at 325 degrees. To make chocolate pound cake, add: 1 tbsp. vanilla |
