SQUASH PUPPIES 
1 egg
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 chopped onion
2 c. squash, cooked & mashed
3/4 c. self-rising cornmeal
1/4 c. flour

Beat egg. Add milk. Add onion and squash. Combine meal and flour. Stir into squash mixture. Drop by small spoonfuls into hot fat. Cook until golden brown.
