PEAR PRESERVES 
Firm pears, washed, peeled and sliced
10 lbs. sugar

Fill dish pan to 1/4 inch from top of pan. Add 10 pounds of sugar over the top and let sit overnight.

Pour pears and sugar into stockpot. Cook on medium heat for 3 1/2 hours after pears have begun to boil. Stir constantly. Cool slightly then pour into clean sterile jars. Seal with heated lids and tops.
